Consultative Visits
As SMEs are major contributors to the development of the country’s economy, PSMB had given special emphasis to employers in this category, to be active in retraining and upgrading the skills of their workforce. Towards this end, PSMB had established the SME Unit in 2000. This Unit is responsible to inculcate a positive training culture amongst SME employers to ensure the full utilization of their HRD Levy contributions.
One of the initiatives undertaken by the SME Division at PSMB is the consultative / advisory visits. Letters of advice are sent to SME employers who are inactive in their levy utilization in order to encourage them to maximize the utilization of their levy contributions. Visits are carried out to selected SME premises to advise the employers on the training assistance/grant available for them.
