BACKGROUND

1.1

The objective of Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad, incorporated under the Companies Act 1965 [Act 125], is the imposition and collection of a human resources development levy for the purpose of promoting the training of employees, and the establishment and administration of the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF).

While the main function of PSMB is to manage the HRDF through determining the terms and conditions under which any financial assistance or other benefits are to be given, it is also charged with the responsibility to assess and determine the types and extent of employees’ training and retraining in keeping with the human resources needs of industries.

Towards this end, PSMB has developed 3 new training programmes with the view to enchance the competency of the workforce in the English Language.

The three English Language programmes are :

a) ADULT LITERACY AND NUMERACY – (ALN)

b) CERTIFICATE IN COMMUNICATION ENGLISH FOR WORKERS – (COMEW)

c) CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS ENGLISH FOR EXECUTIVES - (BEE)
